HELLO EVERYONE!!!
I am SO EXCITED!!! I am just finishing up the last tidbits of my blog’s new look and feel, and I am SO PROUD OF IT! Not sure if you visited the actual blog page much before, but it used to be a darker background of grey with black headers and red highlights. It wasn’t at all what I had imagined when I originally selected “Sorbet” (yumyum!) as my blog theme, but it took me this long to get around to updating things.
And I love it!!
Now, thanks to a theme I bought on Etsy, a brilliant computer science husband, and a generous friend with an eye for design, I have a completely new look and feel. Oh, and I finally added a photo of myself, in case you were imagining that I was Caucasian all this time. Because according to Google image search, “joellen” is a predominantly… non-Asian name.
Some of the main changes:
- It’s fresh and clean and white with a lovely color palette! Hope you feel more relaxed here now. Grab a cuppacocoa and sit with me for a while :).
- Feedly readers will appreciate that full articles are now available in your feed. You are still welcome to click over and visit my new site if you’d like though :).
- I have a real blog banner now! Thanks, Andrew! Isn’t that U-cup so perfect? Yum.
- I changed ad sizes so they look prettier. To me, anyway. You probably didn’t care about that one, actually. But it was bugging me, so yay!
- The “categories” feature is still available, but it’s a drop-down menu now instead of always being open.
- There is a menu bar across the top so new readers can browse the major topics of this blog more easily. I actually had a menu like this before, too, but it was super hidden and unintuitive to find.
- You can see me in non-stick figure form. Now you can imagine the real me talking with you :).
I redid it all hoping it would make my blog feel more welcoming, hospitable, and generally more pleasant to hang around. I’d love it if you stopped by to take a gander and say hello! 😀
